Now that summer (fingers crossed) has finally arrived, we had planned to take a few days away in our camper van somewhere on the Yorkshire coat. (A van makes holidaying super flexible.) Only the van's battery let us down yesterday just as we were ready for the off. It's not just flat - that would have been simple enough to fix - but it's not holding its charge and would soon die again if switched off. There's a long story attached which I won't bore you with except that it was a Sunday, we live miles from anywhere and our local garage have been less than efficient or helpful. Their website and a sign on the door says very clearly they're open every Sunday from 11am to 4pm. It's a lie.
But it looks like we may well be off later today. One of the joys of being away is that I don't go anywhere near the internet. So it's notebook and a pen for me, lots of books - and my Kindle - and hopefully a chair in the sunshine. I should be back on Saturday. So I shall leave you with a photo of the van above - and a late sunset snapped from the back door a couple of weeks ago.
Have a wonderful time!
ReplyDeleteEnjoy! And may the holiday charge up your own batteries as well as the van's!
ReplyDeleteHope you got there, Sally! We had to cancel our holiday because I broke my knee (boo) but we've re-arranged it for when it's fixed (yay!)
ReplyDeleteWe did and had a great time. But...poor you. Sounds nasty and painful. Hope you're better soon.
